’09-’10 Media Center Highlights

I’ve been trying out Animoto.com, which is lots of fun. You can make videos out of your pictures and it’s really easy. For you teachers out there, go to Animoto’s education site and register, and then you and your students can make full-length videos for free. Otherwise you’re limited to 30 seconds.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Well, technically his birthday is March 2nd, but we’re gearing up to celebrate it and Read Across America day. You can participate by signing up to read to the students across the road at Walnut Grove Elementary and earn volunteer hours. I’ll do my best to have Cat in the Hat hats for everyone! Here are the highlights:

* Attend three 30-minute meetings after school

* Read to students at Walnut Grove on March 2nd during school

* Earn 2.5 volunteer hours

* Deadline to register is Thursday, February 4th.

Consider joining in the festivities! See me in the media center for more information.

Need a current event…

or news stories from the past? Check out Google’s latest tool, Google Timeline at http://newstimeline.googlelabs.com/ . Some of the videos you won’t be able to access on campus, but there’s a wealth of good information available to you quickly there!
