CHHS Student Reviews!

Just a reminder that you’re in the middle of a bunch of student reviewed books! I’m excited to be partnering with Mrs. Crane on a reading project with her seniors. They are each reading several different books in the CHHS Media Center, then choosing the one they like best to review. Keep reading!

Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson, is one of my all time favorites and very popular in the CHHS library.  The novel  is ten years old—can you believe it?  To celebrate the anniversary, Anderson decided to create a “found” poem using lines and words from letters she has received from fans about the novel over the last 10 years.  The result is a compelling text—you can find the text of that found poem here:

You can also speak up about the novel Speak and view info about her new book, Wintergirls (we’re ordering it!), at this blog:

Special thanks to Buffy Hamilton, the unquiet librarian, for this info and much inspiration!

Although I have my own self-absorbed family blog, this is the first foray into the world of library blogging! Thanks for stopping by. I hope that this blog becomes a place where ideas are shared and books are reviewed. Stay tuned!
