The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Hobbit” was a great book set in a fictional setting. This book is a great book for high school and a very good read for anyone that likes fantasy books. It was a very interesting book about a hobbit, or a little person, who goes off on an unexpected adventure with dwarves, wizards, and elves all along the way. The main character’s name is Bilbo and he goes through many obstacles starting out with trolls and ending with a fierce battle at the end. At the beginning of the book he has no intention of going off on adventures, but somehow the wizard convinces him to go. The wizard’s name is Gandalf and through most of the story he helps them out of sticky situations, but when the wizard leaves it is up to him to save him and his comrades from dangers with the help of a magic ring he got from an unexpected place. His companions are at first disappointed with Gandalf’s choice as the burglar for the treasure they seek. The treasure is by right of inheritance Thorin’s, the leader of the company of dwarves Bilbo is traveling with, and they seek to get it back. The biggest obstacle for them is to find a way to get rid of the dragon guarding their treasure. How it ends is up to the next reader of this great book.
