Off to War by Deborah Ellis
Off to War is a very touching and moving book. It is stories of little kids whose father is fighting in the war. Kids points of view are very important because there is no better way to see how the kids feel than to hear it directly from them. All of the stories from the kids are separated, thus providing many stories, all put together in one book. It gives great insight into the life of a child whose parent is off at war. The content in this book is very easy to read , so I would say that this book can be read by anybody.
This book might jerk a tear or two out of you, because it can be very touching hearing what some of these kids have to go through on a daily basis. Like I said earlier, anybody can read this book because it is very easy to read and doesn’t take long to read at all. I found myself constantly wanting to read it because it was that good! It is a very humbling book to say the least, especially when you think that you have it hard. I would certainly recommend this book to anybody.
